About O365 Cloud Assignments
For some assignments, instructors may have an Office365 Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file already made that you will use for your submission. This is called an Office365 Cloud Assignment. When you open the assignment, Office365 creates a copy of the file in your OneDrive folder. There are three ways to edit your assignment.
Complete the O365 Assignment from the Assignment Page

- Click the “Edit Document” drop-down menu.
- Select “Edit in Browser.”
- Edit document directly in Canvas.
- Click the "Submit" button.

Open the O365 Assignment in a Separate Window

- Click the "Open" button.
- Edit document in Word Online.
- Close the Word Online window.
- Click "Submit" on the assignment page.

Open the 0365 Assignment in Microsoft Word

- Click "Edit Document" from the drop-down menu.
- Select "Edit" in Word.
- Edit document directly in Canvas.
- Click the "Submit" button.

After you submit, your instructor will see your work exactly as it is shown when you clicked the "Submit" button. Any changes you make to the assignment after the submission cannot be viewed by your instructor unless you submit the assignment again as a resubmission. Your instructor will then see both submissions.
