About Course Announcements

Announcements are a course tool that your instructor may use to send out important information to you and your classmates. Your instructor can choose where you can view class announcements. You may see recent Announcements on your Course Home Page or in a link in your Course Navigation where you can view all course announcements.

   

Viewing Announcements from the Home Page

After opening a course from the Dashboard you are automatically taken to the course Home Page. If your instructor has enabled Announcements for your course Home Page a preview of recent announcement titles are listed at the top of the Course Home Page.  Announcements with a dot on the left side have not been read by you. Click on the announcement to view the full message.

 

Viewing Announcements from Course Navigation

After opening a course from the Dashboard choose 'Announcements' (if available) from the Course Navigation. Here Announcements are also searchable and the newest Announcements are at the top of your screen. Select the Announcement to view the entire announcement and reply if you have been given permission.
