About Joining a Conference

You can join a conference in a course to attend virtual office hours and speakers. Conference invitations are sent out when the conference is created. You can join a conference that has already been started by the conference host.

 

Joining a Conference

 

1. 1. 1. In the course navigation, click the "Conferences" link. 
      2. Next to the conference you want to join, click the "Join" button. You cannot join a conference unless the conference has begun.

 

Note: If joining a conference through Groups, the steps are the same once you enter your group and see "Conferences" in your group navigation.

 

Setting up Conference Audio

 

1. 1. 1. To join the conference audio, click the "Microphone" icon.  If you want to only listen, click the "Listen Only" icon. 
      2. Allow microphone permissions when prompted.
      3. Complete an audio test by speaking a few words. If you hear audio, click "Yes." If not, choose a different microphone and repeat the audio test.
