CSU Expository Reading and Writing Course:

Welcome to English 12P/ ERWC Final Semester!

The ERWC (Expository Reading and Writing Course) is a college preparatory, rhetoric-based English language arts course for grade 12 designed to develop academic literacy (advanced proficiency in rhetorical and analytical reading, writing, and thinking). Your success in this class will help you in your placement in the General Education Courses in all CSU institutions, most Community Colleges in the state of California, and even some UCs. But more importantly, you will learn the strategies needed in successful communication in both college and a career. Its purpose to help you gather the skills and then self-assess your placement in freshman composition classes required through the CSU system. No matter your plans, however, this course prepares you for the next step in your education. All modules contain content approved by the CSU Chancellor's Office. The ERWC Steering Committee has obtained all reproductive rights for published articles used. All lessons contained are the intellectual property of ERWC and the California State University Chancellor's Office. Only teachers trained in ERWC may use this curriculum.

Prerequisite knowledge for this course is the successful completion of English 11P or ERWC for grade 11.
