Welcome to Psychology B1A General Psychology!

This course will take you through the area of psychology as a whole, from research methods to theories of personality, and from biological perspectives to mental disorders and therapy. We will explore many theories concerning psychology, as well as research, careers, and application to your own life.

You are enrolled in this semester long Dual Enrollment General Psychology course. Before we begin we need to be clear on a few things.

THIS IS A COLLEGE COURSE AND YOU ARE COLLEGE STUDENTS.
This course will meet in person, five days a week. At the beginning of each unit, I will go over what will be included and what we are going to do.
You will need to work on this course outside of class in addition to in-class. Since it is a semester course, the main material will be covered in class but it will be your job to continue your learning outside of class.
You must pay attention to deadlines and make sure to put them all in your calendar or use the Calendar that is accessible in Canvas.
I have this course set up so you can click your way through. Each page leads to the next page you need to complete, read, or an activity you need to submit. Start with the first Module and work your way through the course.

You should plan to spend about 5-10 hours per week reading and doing homework (including studying)
We will learn and explore a lot throughout the course in the short period of time. However, I think you will enjoy this class, have fun, and hopefully learn something about yourself. Please plan time in your week to do your work so that you will be successful in the course.
